Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob

Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob is dean of Pitt’s School of Nursing as well as a professor of nursing, psychology, epidemiology, and occupational therapy. In addition, she directs the nursing school’s Center for Research in Chronic Disorders.

Dunbar-Jacob is a nurse/psychologist with extensive experience in research, education, and service. Her research reflects her study of patient compliance for more than 20 years, addressing a variety of patient populations including rheumatological conditions, cardiovascular risk factors, diabetes, AIDS, cancer screening, and transplantation. She has received funding from seven of the National Institutes of Health. Dunbar-Jacob teaches primarily at the doctoral level.
