Founded in 1939, the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh educates nurses for increasingly demanding environments through a comprehensive curriculum that combines rigorous academic work with varied and intensive clinical experiences and a growing involvement in research. The School of Nursing is committed to providing a research-intensive environment that generates new knowledge in health care as related to direct clinical practice and public health policy. The University of Pittsburgh is ranked in the top 10 schools of nursing in research support from NIH.
