Advance Your Expertise in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Pitt Nursing’s hybrid Master of Science in Nursing with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) concentration prepares registered nurses to deliver acute and critical care for adults 18 and older in settings such as ICUs, trauma units, hospitals, and specialty clinics. Delivered through fully online coursework combined with three on-campus immersions, the 51-credit program spans six terms (about two years) and includes 780 clinical hours, exceeding state and national minimums, with school-managed clinical placement support near students’ home communities. Students complete a comprehensive exam and graduate ready to manage complex patients, coordinate care, and contribute to clinical decision-making on the care team.

BSN degree and current RN licensure required. No prior NP experience required.

Three on-campus immersions are held at the end of designated semesters (Spring Year 1, Spring Year 2, and Summer Year 2).
