Advance Your Expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM)

Inspire innovation with Pitt’s Graduate Certificate in STEAM Education interdisciplinary program that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts and math to transform teaching and engage all learners. By blending the arts with STEM, STEAM education increases creativity, collaboration and problem-solving while sparking interest among students who may not traditionally be drawn to science or technology fields.

Through four dynamic courses, you will design and test transdisciplinary curriculum, assessments, and pedagogies for your own classroom. You’ll explore both the theory and practice of STEAM teaching and learning, critically reflect on your instructional decisions, and leave the program with curriculum you’ve developed and piloted.

This certificate equips educators to bring fresh approaches to the classroom, preparing students to think across disciplines and innovate in a rapidly changing world. After completion of this certificate, current PA teacher license holders are eligible for the PA Department of Education s STEM Endorsement. Additionally, it counts toward Act 48 credit hours and Level II certification. This program is aligned with PA Department of Education accreditation standards.
