Advance Your Expertise in Master of Rehabilitation Technology (MRT)

The Master of Rehabilitation Technology (MRT) prepares graduates from anywhere to become leaders in the field of assistive technology.

The Deep Dive Immersion is an in-person requirement that walks students through each area of assistive technology in a real-world setting with clients. Students will be required to attend a hands-on lab in Pittsburgh over one to two days during the fall and spring terms. Students also complete an in-person, 240-hour clinical practicum/internship during the summer term. This internship can be completed within a clinic, hospital, community organization, school, manufacturing or supply company, or any other approved facility.

Eligibility

Requires a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Accreditation

Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendations of the Committee on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Education (CoA-RATE).

What to Expect in Your Classes 

This program offers 12 courses, totaling 35 credits. All coursework is delivered in an online format, with a required in-person Deep Dive Immersion, giving you the flexibility to study from anywhere. Classes run for 15 weeks (except summer term), allowing you to complete the program in 3 terms (including 1 summer term). Students will study and complete an in-person, 240-hour clinical practicum/internship during the summer term.
